Looking at some old stuff I came across a couple things that might be of interest. Comparing two lots of powder was an eye opener.
I used to do these comparisons with components. One group, then one below. just like in the picture. These targets were cut out and attached to a sheet and filed. Shooting a 6BR with two different lots of AA2230. Same load/bullet, top row is with a new 8lb keg of powder which was current at that time - about 2005 - and an earlier 1lb bottle of the same powder from several yrs earlier. Don't know where these lots were manufactured but there was a big difference. I load from that keg now.
The chrono sheet is also from back then. The Pact Pro chrono has a ballistic computer.....plug in your numbers and get a complete readout. I went through several rolls of paper doing these things. This readout was for every 50yds beginning at 50 to find a zero distance. Both temperature and altitude affect trajectory/bullet BC, but altitude has more effect. This shows just how much. The 55 BlitzKing BC isn't very high, but at altitude it jumps way up.
