Altering the Bolt of Rem 40X 22 and Re Chambering to 22 Hornet?

Any one ever hear if a Gun smith , having altered the Bolt of Rem 40X 22 , to 22 Hornet center fire?

Seems MANY years ago I read where somene , a Gun Smith ,changed the Bolt face of 40X and rechambered to 22 Hornet.

I also read that it was possible to change over to the 22Wm ?

Would appreciate knowing if it was done and By Whom?

if any one will do it they should by hung, the 22lr bbl is smaller dia. than .224 or even the earlier .223 hornet bullets and it would not be expected to shoot worth a darn. Saami has it .217 x.222 dia.

buy a Anschutz hornet and be done with it.
