Can you let us know if the necks are tapered and out of whack? Alpha makes the toughest brass I’ve ever shot, but I got sick of neck turning for no turn chambers.

Either way, I’m glad to see it on the market.
You could open the chamber neck ID. I do this pretty often to accommodate no turn brass. I probably would not recommend this in "normal" times..whatever that means. But with no Lapua, other options have to be explored.

Opening the neck won’t fix tapered case necks. May have misunderstood me.

The Alpha I have used was very tough, but had poor neck concentricity, and taper in the necks. Turning it was the fix. I don’t even believe in turning Lapua, but I had to turn the alpha.

I’m hoping the PPC doesn’t have this problem, but I’m waiting to get a batch of several hundred before buying a no turn Reamer for it- assuming it’s concentric.

If not, I’ll just keep shooting a BR.

I may have, yes. Then again, the taper you see might go away with fire forming. Different ways of measuring that kind of thing can give different end results but I'm not gonna disagree at all. Just don't know over the keyboard.

Just ordered a box. Looking forward to comparing it to the Lapua Bule & Gold I have and use in both 262 & 268.......If it is the quality I have found their Dasher brass to be, I will be a happy camper.

Regards
Rick
If it is as consistent as the Alpha ARC brass that I got a month ago I'll be very surprised if you're unhappy with it. Dimensionally speaking that brass was the most consistent I've ever had, and for sure, no out of round necks and case mouths, and a custom box adequately packaged. Not a whole lot more a person could ask for IMHO. JME. WD

What cases are you referring to that were tapered?
All of my 6GT brass had tapered necks.
I first noticed it because I had to turn for clearance when I used your brass with the original GAP print. Has this since been resolved?

I have the video of turning the cases but I don’t know how to post a video.

Here’s a screen shot during the video. I was taking .002 total off, .001 per side.

I haven’t had the need to buy any more since that batch, but I’m looking into a no turn PPC and y’all’s new brass is a no brainer but I had to ask if that had been resolved.

if you have the original GAP print based off converted 6.5x47 brass that is the issue. When we launched production brass the reamer print was updated, which is now the print that is SAAMI approved.

Tom, I updated my post again. You probably hadn’t seen it before the reply.

I have the legacy Reamer now, but still shooting the turned batch of brass.

You will have no issue with non turned GT brass in a legacy/SAAMI reamer. The production GT was never designed to work in the original GAP chamber, I am sure that was the issue.

The reamer creates taper in the case neck?

Straight out of the box? Unfired?

No sir.

I know you’re busy but please take the time to read my question. I’ll save you the time of re-reading and just ask is this 6PPC roughly .002 thinner at the mouth for approximately 1/4 of the length of the case neck? I don’t nickel and dime so if I’m going to buy a lifetime supply, I’d like to know ahead of time.

Thank you for your time.
