Alpha Arms re barrel

Does anyone have any experience re barreling a Alpha Arms Inc. made by Homer Koon in Flower Mound, Tx. ( near Dallas )? The rifle is a 3 lug bolt made in house & is in 338/284.
I have been told these are very tricky to re barrel but looking at it I can't see anything that isn't strait forward. Any help or info. is very much appreciated.

Boots, it's been 30 yrs. Since I worked there. First is it a side thumb safety or is it a three position safety gun? Most important before rebarreling is that you determine if the bolt head has been pinned. If it has not do not attempt to shoot until doing so!!!! Day one I asked if this was being done. Couple of years later, one came in experiencing catastrophic failure!!!! From there on all bolt heads were pinned. Problem number two, make sure the tops of the lugs have punch marks indicating the were hardness tested. Homers design( top safety) were too soft a lot of time. These often set the lugs back and showed headspace.

So yes, I know two of us can help out , only if your gun has a 3 position safety.

Thanks kutter, this rifle has the m70 type safety & it has the hardness test marks on the lugs & bolt body. I was told the rifle was made in 1982 & that there were not many made in the 338/284 caliber. I really like the rifle & my aim is to make it a switch barrel w/ additional 284 win. & 25/284 barrels. Thanks for the # & I will contact you concerning the rebarreling.
