Alpen Rainier model 856 25-75x86 spotting scope?

Hello all, I ran into this spotting scope being sold locally. Seems to be at a good price and he says it has never been used. Just curious if anyone has any experience with this scope. I am contemplating on buying it.

Years ago Alpen was supposed to be really good glass getting high marks on birding sights( picky needing to see every color on a feather at distance) I have an Alpen XP 1.5-6x40 rifle scope and I bought my wife a good pair of binos for her. Alpen went out of business and the name has been picked up by Bresser. I have no idea now how todays Alpen compares to the earlier company. But this info should give you some research info.

Thank you. I have seen that they originally were over $1000 msrp and the one I am looking at is way way way below that price tag. Maybe I should go take a gander at it.
