Yeah that seems to be the norm not many people realize that or knew that. They also offered it in a 284 Winchester which I have two of those they are excellent for Elk and deer. I have another 257 Roberts. And then they offered it in the 358 and 450 Marlin which I have one of each also.

I have a pre-81 I rebarreled to 250 Savage, great little deer rifle. They’re likely one of the most accurate lever rifles too.
