All-In-One Case Prep Centers

Does anyone use these for proficiency?

I've been looking at the Frankfort one and just saw that the Lyman is on sale for $95 at Cabela's.

I've had the Lyman since they came out and haven't had any problems. It does what it's supposed to do. I read somewhere along the line that the Lyman is noisy. I don't think it is, however, the Lyman is the only one I have ever owned.

The lyman is not noisy at all I was shocked at how quiet it is. I just bought one becouse of the great reviews on it and some really bad ones on the rcbs one. Most people like them and I am looking forward to useing mine.. I also bought it on sale at cabelas for that price, cheapest I've seen them..
There a review on here and from what I remember they liked it also...

I have 2 of the layman's. They are quiet to me. They're good to go for normal case prep chores however I trashed one chambering cases after some serious trimming on 308 Palma to 6.5 Creedmoor conversions.

I have the RCBS and it functions as advertised. A little noisy at first but after I removed the base and lubed the moving parts it quieted down considerably. Have owned and used it for over five years and still functions as new.

I have the Frankfort one and it does make noise but I do not need to wear hearing protection. I usually use a hand tool to clean primer pockets, however.

I've had the Frankford Arsenal for about a year now, and absolutely love it. I just wish I had a way to use it for my 50 BMG cases. I use it for all of my other bottle neck cases. Trims very consistent

Now if I'm correct, the Lyman doesn't trim as where the Frankfort does trim, is that correct that the Lyman doesn't trim?

You are correct. If I was buying an all in one, I'd look to RCBS. but you should get around some other guys equipment and formulate a long term plan before buying. I'm on my 2nd RCBS power trimmer and kick myself every time I fire it up for not buying a Giraud trimmer.

I use my Lyman almost every week. I do NOT find it any more noisy than a vibrator or tumbler. I run a tumbler for 2-3 hours at a time, and that I can get used to almost.
