Hmmm never tried it but that is an interesting theory. I’ve always found my best accuracy around 6-10 thou into the lands.

This is pretty much what lapua 6br ammo is. Works amazingly consistently in lots of 6br builds.

I used to believe that a 30br or 30 major was the ultimate at holding tune, and they may well be the best of the best.
That said, in 2008 I traveled and shot several ranges in my area without changing the load at all. Then I went 500 miles north to a Nationals, pre-loaded as always..and the gun/load wouldn't shoot in a bucket.
I've been using tuners ever since.

Yes, some loads just tend to shoot well in any rifle. 30gr Varget with a 105 in 6BR and 46.5gr Varget with Sierra 155 in Palma are just two examples. For XTC shooting, there's a few loads that just work in everything.
