Airguns go UBR route.

I am staring an airguns match at the local indoor range I shoot at most days. I set it up for 20 meters .177 and .22 spring or piston guns only. Since I chose paper silhouette targets, chicken, pig, turkey and ram, I initially planned on plugging close .177 holes with a .224 plug to see if they touched. Shooting yesterday the light came on. I like the UBR game. So following the UBR example I reduced the targets for .22s 13 percent. Problem solved. Thanks to the UBR GUYS for being smart.......smarter than most. So if your in Central or Western Pa, or wish to fly in from around the country, come enjoy the fun.

Well come show us. No typewriter shooting. I do agree with you though. I have cleaned it but it's hard to do because it looks so easy. I tried to get where a good shooter will be in the upper 30s and mediocre shooters in the high 20s . If we need to adjust the target size I will. But, that remains to be seen. Over the years I have often found should forgets to show up when the starting buzzer goes off. Come shoot, bring s buddy.

A 300 or a Diana 75 are both capable of one tiny hole groups at 20 meters. You may want to keep the match to sporter rifles. Please don't take my posts as a dish on your targets or match, but the two rifles I mentioned were the top dogs in 10M in their day. They are amazing pieces of engineering. I highly recommend owning one if you get the chance.

If you were closer I'd love to come shoot with you. I hope you have great success with your matches.

Thanks justinp61. I shoot a tuned TX200. Most of my shooting is at 25 yds from a bench. I shoot at colored notebook paper reinforcement rings. The center is .250. On good days all 5 shot groups stay inside the inner circle. Tomorrow night a local sportsmen club starts their winter matches at 10 meters. Your allowed a front bag or rest but no rear bag, you must shoot it from the shoulder. Their 10 ring is a .200 circle with a tiny dot in the middle. To get an x you must wipe out the dot, 25 bulls on the target. Today I shot 250x250 with 20 x's, thats about my average. No loading, no cleaning , I like it better every day. Do you shoot any matches in Ky?

I do shoot matches but cross the river into Illinois and shoot at a small gun club there. We shoot 10M air rifle or pistol fun matches indoors in the winter and move outdoors when the weather breaks to shoot rimfire.

Our 10M bench rules are similar to yours, front rest only, no rear bag, we shoot aperture sights. The bench target is NRA AR-5/10, the 10 ring is the size of a period, you must at least cut it to score a 10, there are no X's. We shoot five targets, possible 100 points each, 500 total possible points. Last week there was a tie for first place, two shooters shot 499, one rifle was a high dollar PCP, the other, a FWB 300S, it wasn't me. LOL

If you get on Airgun Nation there us an online match that goes month to month match that uses that target at 50 ft. I had a 98-8x for top score last month. The online matches are not near as much fun as actual face to face matched but they are better than nothing.
