AGs from 24 states put Visa/MC/Amex/Discover on notice

The "Letter" is a "Notice of Intent" ; that must be sent to make those Companies aware that actual Legal Actions will follow if the Companies continue down that path . These AG's are doing their job trying to protect our rights , and deserve Our full support . The wheels of real Legal Justice grind slowly .

SOOOO... Are any of you aware that all of the major banks will not process credit cards for any company that sells firearms or firearm parts?

That's already a thing. Been that way for years now. The banks simply said if you sell firearms or parts, you cannot do business. There is a tiny handful of 2a friendly credit card processors. But for the most part, the entire banking industry has cut off firearm retailers already.

I spoke with one of our reps here in Arkansas and he said they were going to get a lot of different burdens on the manufacturers and consumers lifted in the next couple of years.
Companies that call Arkansas home include SIG SAUER, Remington, Daisy, Walther, Nighthawk Custom, Thermold Magazines, Umarex, and Wilson Combat.
We have a very good attorney general here that's working closely with the attorney general in both Texas and Oklahoma. I think a lot of it depends on how the election goes in November. I'm cautiously optimistic, but it's better to hope than to despair... John

Received this from Brownells yesterday:

Dear John,

I’m sure you’ve heard a lot in the news recently about major credit companies coming together to create a new merchant category code (MCC) for firearm and ammunition retailers. We’ve received a lot of inquiries about what this means, how it could impact customers and how Brownells is classified today and in the future.

Therefore, I wanted to reach out to you – a valued customer and friend – to clarify a few things regarding this issue.

Brownells Classification Now & Going Forward
First and foremost, I want you to know that Brownells has long been classified as a “sporting goods retailer” by credit card companies. After conversation with our banking partners, we have confirmed that we will continue to be classified as a SPORTING GOODS RETAILER.

To be clear, we WILL NOT be changing to the new MCC dedicated to firearm and ammunition retailers. This is mainly due to the types of products we predominately sell.

Industry Impacts

Throughout Brownells’ 83-year-history in the firearm industry, we’ve proudly taken a stand for our industry, gun owners in general and the 2nd Amendment – irrespective of whether legislation, regulatory actions or other anti-2A measures have impacted us directly.

Put simply, we’re all in the fight for freedom and privacy together. Are we happy that our MCC code isn’t changing? Yes. However, we are deeply concerned with the impact this new classification may have on firearm owners or prospective firearm owners, local gun stores and even our competitors.

Therefore, you have my word that we will join in any effort to make our voices heard and to educate all parties involved in this matter.

Our Position on Your Privacy

We love offering you firearms, firearm accessories, parts, tools, ammunition, reloading products and all of the accoutrements to outfit your next firearm-related adventure. As shooters, hunters, firearm do-it-yourselfers, and gunsmiths ourselves, nothing brings us more pleasure than to see and hear from you about how our products, content and services help you pursue your passions.

However, I can assure you – our NUMBER ONE priority is the safety, security and privacy of your data. Our promise to you is that we will continue to vehemently guard your personal data and order information, always.

Sincerely,

Chad Martin
CEO, Brownells, Inc.

If enough businesses say UP YOURS to the Credit Card Companies, they WILL get the message.
When it hits their BOTTOM LINE, the message will ring loud and clear.
Banks are known for trying to treat the little guys like s**t but when enough of them speak up, it just may start to hurt?
Had issues with Wells Fargo and Bank of America. Got jerked around enough that I walked in, told both of them to close me account and I took my $$$ to my Local Bank where I'am treated like I expect. Like I said, when it starts hitting their bottom line, they WILL start listening.

Banks or businesses can only tell you how to spend YOUR $$$$ if you let them!!
Dealing with Sisters investments with a DPOA. Taking care of her $$$ and paying for her care.
Called Wells Fargo to get more $$$ to pay her Care Home costs. Was told, "We arn't servicing that account anymore"???? WTF??
Took me about 60 seconds to call my local bank, talk to the investment brokers (whom I had known for about 10 years) and with one phone call, got about $135K transferred over and got cash in hand to pay needed expenses.
This guy don't play those "little guy" games. ;);)

If enough folks, even with as little as $100, $1000, or even $100K tell the big Banks to BITE ME, somebody will have their butts in a ringer and someone will want to know WHY the bottom line is smaller than it was. (???)
Just saw a B of A ad about taking care of Mexican folks and their $$$???
(there's that bottom line thing again)
From what I've seen, the LEFT has taken care (??) of folks for way TOO LONG and folks are starting to have their eyes opened. Bout time.
