After market Rem 700 firing pin assembly

potatoe

Whos got some input on some aftermarket firing pin assemblies for the Rem. 700, who makes a good one, what were the results etc? I have a pierce action that I think I could switch the assembly out on my rem 700 but wanted some input.

You gotta make sure its never been bushed and dont go with a lightweight one. A good fresh extra power spring on a factory pin is hard to beat

It's not bushed, I do not know if its a light weight one. . . its the one that comes with a standard tube gun action.

My other spring is not worn out or anything, it just seems rather "bunched" up in there. From what I've looked up on the pierce sight, I can just switch them out. I'm just wanting to play around and see if there are any changes.

Send the bolt to Greg, have him bush it and install one of his firing pins............Done.

Thanks Phil, this (as all my builds kinda do) started as something small but has ballooned into a tube gun build that isn't as cheap as I set out to have.. . . We'll just have to see how she plays ;)

I`m sure it will be a shooter when you`re finished with it.

What did Dad decide to do????

He went with a .220 swift. It's over at Bob Green's now and should have it back soon. The first testing of both his and my new BR will be done in the cold so not sure how well that will work out. I'm sure if they play right you will see them in a video soon ;D

Hang a 40* shoulder on that sucker and stock up on the 75 Amax........

.22cal. hammer in the works...... 8)
