Adjusting Timney Trigger Rem. 700

I installed a Timney Trigger in my Rem.700 and have it adjusted to 1 1/2 lbs. It passes the slam bolt closed and hitting the barreled action on the floor test. When I put the trigger on safety then pull the trigger then take it off safety the rifle fires. The procedure I use to adjust the trigger is to,1) adjust the sear engagement,2) adjust the over travel,3) adjust the trigger pull weight. I have adjusted the trigger three times. Can someone tell me what the problem might be. Thank You Norman

Pull the weight up to 2#'s and it should work out OK but do lots of checks and remember no safety is 100% SAFE.....

Try adjusting the sear engagement so it has a little more travel, creep?) and see if that clears it up. Thats the only thing I can think of that might fix it.

If not than you might want to send it back.
