Adjusting my Jewel BR trigger pull weight

I checked my Jewel BR trigger pull weight and thought it should be adjusted a little lower. I thought some of you might want to see how I did it.

Method: To measure the pull weight I used a Scherr Tumico Dynamometer (which I bought months earlier on Ebay) which measures in grams. The dial hash marks on this dynamometer are in 2 gram increments. Each pull weight measurement (first pic) was repeated 6 times, the mean and range were calculated, then the mean (in grams) was divided by 28.35 grams/ounce to determine the mean pull weight in ounces. A 0.050" Allen wrench was used to make trigger pull weight adjustments as shown in the second pic. If the pull weight somewhat/marginally exceeded the 100 gram max shown on dynamometer dial, I measured the excess by marking it on a piece of paper, measured that excessing in grams using the hash marks on the dial, then added the excess to 100 grams.

Results: The pre-adjustment mean pull weight was 4.1 ounces (range 4.0-4.4). Turning the Allen wrench about 1/8th turn provided (in my Jewel BR trigger) a .21 to .26 ounce change in pull weight. Turning the Allen wrench clockwise increased pull weight, and turning it counter-clockwise reduced pull weight. Adjustments were made in 1/8 to 1/4 turn increments to avoid excessive changes. I arbitrarily set the pull weight at about 2.5 ounces based on my feel of the trigger pull.

I hope you find this helpful. Please keep in mind that your trigger pull weight may need to be adjusted differently.

It is. I have some comments and question.

Which spring is in your trigger? B or C
I also purchased the same gauge from eBay as when I searched, it seemed is was the only way to measure trigger pulls as low as I wanted. I had a very old Lyman spring type trigger pull gauge. Not a very impressive unit. But somewhere along the way, I had also purchased their electronic trigger pull gauge. I had used it on several triggers that I adjusted and was very content with it. Before I put my Dynamometer gauge into use, I actually read the literature on my Lyman electronic. Found it measures down to 1 ounce, with stated accuracy of +/- 0.1 ounce. I've since used it on several triggers set down to as low as 1 ounce with excellent repeatability.

Jepp2 - I assume you're talking about the very small compression spring associated with the sear reset; it is the same spring that came with the trigger when I bought it new. Don't have lit for the trigger since my gunsmith put the overall rifle together.

Per the Jewell manual:
a. Spring A: 8.0 to 56.0 oz.
b. Spring B: 2.0 oz. to 16.0 oz.
c. Spring C: 1.5 oz. to 3.0 oz.
