adjusting jewell trigger

my 6mmhbr has a jewell, and the trigger won't hold when the bolt is cocked forward and into battery. How do I adjust it so that it isn't firing when the bolt is placed down?? this trigger has been set at about two ounces before this problem.

Try this:

I had some issues with mine and followed the adjustment instructions and it's fine now.

The trigger may have been 2 oz. at one time, but over time contact surfaces wear, springs loose their tension and it would only take a microscopic piece of dirt to add to the problems, so that the trigger now may be well under 2 oz.

Follow the instructions and complately dis-assemble, inspect each individual part, clean with lighter fluid, or some other grease free cleaner, re-assemble, then follow the instructions for adjusting the 3 screws.

I really don't like my Jewells set at 2 oz., for me, too light and close to the "red line", increasing the chances for unintentional discharges. I set them at 4 to 5 oz. for that little extra margin of protection. It's not nice when you have an unintentional discharge during a match & it just cost you 10 points.

thanks everyone for the great info, I was able to clean and readjust the trigger on this gun. works good now. thanks
