ADG 300 WSM brass sorting

so i weight sorted my brass as it came
232.3 to 234.6, 2.3 gr spread, first and second boxes showed about 2 gr spread
i think even an f class shooter would have flyers without a sort, but taking out about 50 out lyers
you would have about 450 at plus or minus .7
for long range br I like no spread, but that aint happening
i can do 100 plus/minus .1
a second 100 plus or minus .1
and a 3rd lot of 80 at plus or minus .1
with a only a total spread of .7 over the 3 grpups
now to prep the 280 and resort

Why do so many NOT sort?
With 500, there WILL be outliers. Nobody wants them mixed in with competition rounds (even a F-Class shooter).
Once you have gone through the batch to find the few heavy and light you have sorted,
pick your sort spread, bag and tag. It's FREE.
The last time I took a short cut that will probably hurt in the long run.
I weighed and held out 100 (out of a thousand) with a tight spread (+/- quarter grain ).
The overall distribution has been altered, but I was lazy.

because thier ACCURACY requirements do not require the steps, or their knowledge level is not there.
my best was rws 300 win mag 200 pcs,, plus or minus 0.05.
i sort based on the INTENDED USE, just like i build based on the intended use.

Anyone measure case capacity in this new ADG 300 WSM brass and if so what is it?

For my 7-300wsm they were:
H2O gr, with a fx 120i
80.14
80.12
80.08 once fired cases

once fired and sized
79.4 79.5 and 79.6 gr H2O

2.092 case length once fired and 2.094 after sizing

neck turned, once fired, and sized weighed 231.5 gr w/o primer

I just did three cases and I am .013 neck, .310 loaded…..od shoulder .541

My Norma is heavier, around 243 gr, Remington was 233 average and Bertram was around 214 gr

I don’t sort like you all above, just grabbed a few to see and it looks pretty darn good to me

ok sort TWO.
NECK TURNED i lost a few due to neck not cleaning up at .0141/2
new spread was 231.2 to 232.6
leaving out 2 at 231.2
232.5+/-.1 53 pcs
232.2+/-.1 98 pcs
232.0+/-.1 100 pcs
231.6 =.2/-.1 23 pcs
after firing i may resort based on how much brass comes P1000930.JPGout of the primer pockets
