Adding beddng epoxy after bedding job came up short

So it would seem some of the epoxy did not make contact with the receiver on my latest bedding job. Think I'm okay to add a bit to the missed area and seat it again for another 24 hrs? IMG_1872.jpeg

The epoxy you've already cured in place will have release agent on the surface and it's very difficult to remove; that makes it unlikely you'll get a good bond with the new epoxy. Wipe the old epoxy with solvent to remove as much of the release agent as you can, then use a Dremel or shaft tool with a cutting burr to remove the current surface; you don't have to remove all of the old epoxy, but you do need to expose fresh surface without contaminating it with release agent.

This my approach to bedding. The less contact the better. Meaning the rear of the recoil lug and an area down the bottom center of the action, basically the width of the pillars for round actions. Stocks do move either with changes in temperature or humidity.
YMMV

Dave it makes sense that more contact area provides a higher probability for a single high spot to upset the balance. I recently bedded a 22lr stock which for an unknown reason developed a lot of voids. Ugly but shoots fantastic, so I'll just refer to it as a honeycomb design to minimize contact!
