Actions what is the best

I am new to the Benchrest sport what action can i buy?
how good is the hall actions pleas give me same stats on the top 30 benchrest shooters in the world? pleas advise.

Thanks
Ian Nam

Check the IBS website under match results and you will see a lot of different actions in use. BAT, STOLLE, STILLER, FARLEY, NESIKA are all good and you wont be dissapointed in any of them. I just checked the recent Nationals results and it looks like BAT has become the #1 used action. No wonder the waiting list is so long. By the way, since your new to benchrest, I'll give you fair warning, when you order an action, a stock, a barrel, beprepared to wait. Most if not all of this stuff is made to order and there are waiting list for all the top components.

I've seen you shoot over in F Class without much sucess. I sincerely hope you will do better in benchrest.
I don't think a Hall or any other BR action will do you any good. A Mauser 98 will probably be sufficient!:cry

Ian, just joking!!! Get one of that super accurate actions for me as well! :D

This greatly depends, as already intimated, on how long you are prepared to await delivery.

I like the look of the kit being produced by BAT and would suggest you avoid Nesika like the plague.

Cheers

I also just got the BR bug and after a lot of research I now have a 6.5 BAT SV that I will not part with, it's slicker than a greased pig, and makes me wonder why I didn't do it years ago instead of fooling around with the 700's.......

Hi Shooters
Thanks for your replays.
But How good is the Hall action ????
I am looking for 6mmppc for Lv/Hv for Bench rest give me a components brake down.
Thanks Ian

Hall actions are fine. I don't see to many of them around BR matches anymore. The equipment list from the Super Shoot still has Stolle as the most frequently used action. As the above posters have indicated, any of the new custom actions are gouing to be competitive. The skill and care that is taken when assembling the rifle is more important than the make of the action. As far as being prepared to wait, call Lester Bruno at Bruno's Shooters Supply. He stocks Stolle and BAT actions. See the classifieds on benchrest.com under "components". Lester also stocks Shilen, Hart and Krieger barrels.

Hi! Bruno's,Russ Haydon's have Bat actions and others for sale and in stock, also Stillers is supposed to have just finished some also. You can't go wrong with any of these.

Thanks guys
So For LV and HV Bench rest the Bat action!!! But what,") barrel can I put on the action. It all so depend on the wight of Stock can I do put on.
