actions for 6br

what is one of the good actions for a 6br? I really like a small port. just need one big enough for a 6br or brx

Depends on what type of rifle your building, short range guys use lighter actions, long range guys use bigger beefier actions. Without going dual port the BAT 3-lug is a nice one for the 6br length, they have different diameters to meet your weight requirements.

I have two of the BAT SV actions and they seem almost perfect for the 6 BR. The load port is 2.3 inches long.

Josh11,

I have a standard Hall, Stiller Diamondback, and a Bat B. all these guns are long range, 17 lb gun and all are BR or BRX. The Bat SV or S would be a great size for the 6BR.

look at the new haverkamp action that out now just hitting the market. I know the man that makes these and these actions are built right. Tom guarantees his action are 100% true in every way. All machine work is done after heat treating. These actions are very strong and made with the best steel money can buy. I have one coming in three weeks and i cant wait. Tom built these action especially for the BR and ppc cases. They will work for whatever you need however! Tom is a great man and his actions are really a work of art, They arent the most flashy action you have ever seen but they are not meant for that, They are made to shoot dots on paper!! Look him up and i think you will be pleased!! I can send you a phone number if you wish! Lee

what about kelbly grizzly single shot? is it good enough for bench?

yes!

Would the bat sv be big enough for 6br and 6brx with 28-30 inch barrel? I want to make sure I can shoot 600 yards, without any problems. I really want to go with the best. By the best, and only cry once. Where could I buy one? Should I try to get one used or just buy a new one?

Josh, the thing about ordering your action from the manufacturer is there is usually quite a wait. But if your in no hurry you'll save money on a new action plus get exactly what you want.

If you buy your action off the shelf you will pay quite a bit more. I learned my lesson there, they list one price on BR Central ads and then try to charge you more when you go to buy it. It is very convenient to go this route. I was in a hurry.

You'll obviously find your best deals on used actions and guns. I picked up a second used BAT 3-Lug for over $300 dollars less than the first action who I bought through a BR Central ad.

There is also a site, I can't remember where it is or who runs it, but has a huge list of BR rifles for sale. Maybe someone can point you in that direction. Might be worth a look.

The BAT SV action is in fact just fine for what your wanting to do. I still highly recommend the Haverkamp action. give tom a call 812-466-2885 lee
