Action screws need ???? inch pounds of torque.

I've gathered some outstanding info re torque wrenches so now need to know what is std or a good starting place for action screws.

Would bedding pillar or otherwise make a difference?

Also scope bases and rings although I'd think that those aren't even close to a "critical" value..........but, what do I know?

The Old School of thought was 50" lbs for Pillar bedded stocks- on wooden or UNBEDDED stocks I usually start with 25 Front and 20 rear--700 ADL and Winchester 70 the middle screw is just tight enough to take the slack out of the screw.

Just finished a Ruger American in 22 LR and it liked 15" lbs front and back

Good Luck

Jim
