How many rounds is the average life expectancy of a custom 6ppc action like a Kelbly ? What are the signs of wear ?

PPC? Forever if your taking care of it.. Hot loads with spent primer pockets burning your bolt face would shorten life.. Grease your lugs and clean your firing pin assembly, maybe a firing pin spring.. I wonder if anyone has burnt up a custom action without abusing it?

I have a panda that is 20 years old and is tight and smooth just like a new one. Taking care of something is the key.

One of our top local short-range BR shooters has been shooting the same Panda for many years. Last weekend I asked him how many barrels he's had on it, and he said, "At least 50." Conservatively, that's 50,000 rounds.

+1 on the advice to keep the brass not-too-tight (will require full-length resizing with a properly-fitting die) and the lugs clean and lubed. You're good to go for one or two lifetimes -- maybe more -- without producing enough wear to change the action face to bolt face dimension.

My Stolle Teddy was made in 1990 and it does double duty for me its a HV 6ppc and I switch barrels andits my VFS gun shooting 30 BR. Like everyone else said keep lugs clean and lubed, andkeep inside of bolt clean!

A know a fellow who shoots Panda Serial # 2, which was made, I think, in 1971 or 72. Probably well in excess of 100,000 rounds and about 50+ different barrels. Looks like it was made last week. Keep it clean and lubed it will live longer than we will.
