I am still using a 700 Rem that originally was a 243 varmiter bdl. I took the unknown round count barrel off and had a 308 barrel put onto it. After 3000+ rds, rebarreled
to 7-08 for another 3000+ rounds. Back to 308 for another 4000+ rds. That came off and now a 260 Remington for another 3000+ rounds. I have another 6.5x47 barrel to go on next, after shooting leftover ammo. I have probably been through two triggers, 1 firing pin spring, complete ejector overhaul with springs/pin while having a m16 extractor put onto it with the 7-08 barrel (replaced once possibly not needed). Probably dry fired 5x that. Runs smooth. New bolt handle by choice.
Grease well and beware of heavy springs on the firing pin as that can create premature wear on the cocking cam in the bolt.
