Action identification

I have a Mauser 98 style action with an Enfield hammer forged barrel in .308. On the side of the receiver it is stamped "Wafenfabrik Steyr" and below it "Austria".........so, do I have a "Steyr" action or was this action just made in Austria during the war? Any info would be appreciated......

It sounds like you have a M-98 action made by the Steyr plant during the war. The M-98 actions were made by several differant plants during the war.
