action bedding

bedded my stoll panda into the mbr1 today, turned out great, the question is should i have bedded any of the barrel at all.because all i bedded was the action and recoil lug.barrel is a 30 inch heavy contour thanks shane

Well all I can say is I never bed the barrels, not even on the 28 inch 1.350's as long as I'm using a good heavy recoil lug. If I was using a factory recoil lug then I might consider bedding a bit of the barrel..
Even my pillared light weight 7mm SAUM is fully floated and that still has the factory lug in it...
It shoots so good I have no intention of changing it...

I've done it both ways. I like to bed a little barrel on heavy barreled Remington actions, but not light barrels. On a Panda, or any other solid custom action, I would go for a free float most every time I think. I don't have much experience with really heavy barrels, like 32 or 34 inch 1.350's, but I think I might opt to barrel block one of these monsters.
