Accutrigger to lite??

Hello all, got my first br rifle with a savage action on it. My question is when I close the bolt without much force at all really the trigger tries to fire, I'm assuming it won't due to the safety sear? Is that normal?

No, it is not normal that your rifle fires when it's not supposed to. Adjust sear engagement or have someone do it for you. Sounds like it is way too light.

Trigger is set too light clean all the factory gunk out of it then reset it with supplied tool to the point it no longer trips and then put a small drop of clear nail polish on it so it doesn't back out.The how-to is in the owners mannual.

Question#1. Yes it is because of the 'safety sear'.
Question#2. No...it is not normal.
Hypothetically if it were a different trigger the rifle would fire when you did this. If you lengthen the adjustment screw with the supplied tool ( I assume it is a Savage Precision Target Trigger) you will resolve your problem. You may be quite surprised how light these triggers can be and where you are now is beyond that point. And yes it is spelled out in the instructions if you have them. I have found on my Savage's that the triggers can be adjusted lighter than I care for without the problem that you are experiencing.
