Accurizing Winchester 1885 Hi Wall

I'm looking for a gunsmith specializing in accurizing Hi Walls, or, at least, one who does it. I have one rebarreled in
.263 RKB by Jerry Shannon of Spanaway, Washington in 1964. He did the necessary work to make it safe. However, its accuracy leaves a lot to be desired. Obviously, part of the problem is the 2 piece stock (a Fajen bought in '64) as the fore-end is attached to the barrel by one screw. I have no idea if it is possible to attach a hanger to which the fore end can be attached so as to have a free floating barrel. I have read in "Woodchucks & Woodchuck Rifles" (C.S.Landis, 1951) in a chapter by Eric Farr that the only way to get exceptional accuracy in a Hi Wall is to use a one piece stock. To my thinking that borders on being ugly. It may be that I should just accept what I've got and forget about gilt edge accuracy.
Any ideas? Bob

There are a couple of brothers that shoot those at the Manatee club in Florida. I don't know their names or contact information, but you could call the club at 941-322-0055 and ask for Gene Pitts. The club is open Thursday to Sunday. He might be able to point you in the right direction. One of them was shooting something like a 45-110 at almost 600 yards with one of his guns a couple of months ago and doing amazingly well. The things were coming in like mortar rounds but the grouping impressed me. The one of stocks was a beautiful fiddle-back maple.
