Accurate shooter donations

Tried twice to donate with credit card. The fields cleared and gave an error note. Wasn't there an address we could donate using the good ole postal service? Also, this way my wife won't see my donation for a month. I'm sure I can come up with some excuse by then.

Forum Boss: The PayPal system IS working for regular donations, but you need to fill in an amount first. We DO allow old-fashioned donations by checks through the mail.

I've got an idea. What would happen if non-members posts were simply ignored? Freddy the Freeloader was a fun guy on TV but here not so much. I see no reason why those who put their money out to support this site, should give expert advice to those who are happy to not pay their way.

Would you go to a restaurant and not leave a tip? The folks who post here have many thousands of dollars invested in firearms and loading equipment, so saying they can't afford it is just plain fake news. If they can't afford the price of membership here they should sell their equipment and spend the money on their family.

Most posters here buy the best powder and bullets they can find for the load they are shooting. One box of 80 gr Berger bullets cost $30.00. If an extra $30.00 a year is going to break their budget, they need another hobby.

I agree, and although I have been a Gold Contributor for quite a while, I could donate on top of that. However, I do not see the 'Donate Button' at the bottom of the page. Am I looking at the wrong place?

Well Nick, that would only leave about 1500 of us actually still talking to each other. The forum would quickly become a shell of itself. Contributing is a personal choice. I encourage others to do it, but it's not my money to spend. I'm not going to tell you how to spend yours and you sure aren't going to tell me how to spend mine. I'm making 75% of what I was a month ago due to this virus shit as I've had my hours reduced by 25%. I'm running myself out of work here with no new orders on the horizon. Soon I anticipate I will be unemployed. Don't make assumptions.

I contribute here monetarily, but I honestly get tired of the constant hand out looking for another donation or your donation isn't enough, how about more attitude. There are bigger fish to fry right now. At least that's how it is in my world at the moment.

Right now some are finding it difficult to keep up with expenses. I realize that and can't imagine what that must be like.

That being the case, this situation only became a problem in the last few months and won't last forever. Now on paper, I have probably lost more that most people earn in a year because of the stock market decline. Not worried about it as I know it will come back if I don't panic. The fact is that the non-contributors were here before the pandemic and will be here after it subsides. They have no excuse except their continuing ability to continue to thrive on those of us who feel obligated to pony up to the bar. Liken it to walking in a bar and shouting drinks are on me and then the freeloaders shouting when are you buying the next round.

I support this site cause of the information I receive from it.
I also belong to another forum, ( and support that one too)but was limited to just a few of the really high end precision shooters
this site has. I'm sure 99% of the people here support the 2nd Amendment.
As far as Snipers Hide, there are a lot of good tactical shooters there and there is a lot of asshole's too, (want-a-be's)
that just chime in even though they have no experience with the caliber or the question.
I don't mind adding any info I might know that others might not in certain areas.
This site has more of what I'm looking for. So it works better for my needs.

Just a thought but there are some non paying members here that are world class shooters, hand loaders and smiths, that have forgotten more than some of the gold members will ever know. Don't ruin a great site by playing the shame game. I know some of them and if they were as you state "simply ignored" that would be a shame. If payment is not required on this site either accept it or change it don't ruin it. Ask me what I give in charitable contributions each year and you will get the same response, it none of your %$#@&! business, I don't advertise.

While I do share some of your feelings on the matter the plain truth is that some people are just cheap. As long as someone is willing to pay, someone is willing to let them. Cheap people usually have no shame and either enjoy being cheap or find it amusing.... either way, you won't shame them into giving up a whole $25.00.
It won't change until the Boss puts more restrictions on the classifieds or makes another contributor level. Adding another level has been talked about numerous times but the Boss hasn't done it so I guess he doesn't want to...He does an awesome job with this site! It is fantastic! I can honestly say that my shooting and reloading wouldn't be where it is if I hadn't learned so much here. I have been a Gold contributor for a long time and I have no plans to stop. Another pet peeve of mine... how can anyone that was a Gold or Silver contributor let it lapse and still come here to sell things, buy things or just soak up knowledge. If you are visiting this site to advance your shooting, you can darn sure spare a couple of bucks!

Great site well worth the price of admission and then some. I read the Bulletin every day. If some folks are Silver and Gold and don't want to I understand. Some folks get stretched thin with belonging to a bunch of groups and donating time and money so that is cool. If you come here on a regular basis you really should become a Silver Contributor.

@Drop Port makes a very good post above. We can assume all day why someone is not contributing but we really don’t know. Whether they are or not has no bearing on the value of their post.

Additionally, the more people that hit this site, the more valuable the site is for advertisers. We are not helping by running people off.
