I REALLY LIKE THE IDEA OF THIS THREAD. How do we build a competitive rifle on a budget? I mean it is hardly EVER discussed. Mostly, the discussions are more, more, more, etc etc. I mean, don't get me wrong, that is JUST FINE. I mean that is great!!! But how about a thread devoted to budget builds
THAT WORK.
I sent the original poster a PM and asked if I could expound a bit on his thread because I think this should be PINNED POST. I have been pushing this idea for some time, and I even set my store up around the idea.
Here is the first customer rifle built from my store concept. @

All of the rifle parts came from my store except the pic rail. He did purchase a Jewel trigger but the action is a bone stock Rem 700 single shot. No mods at all. The barrel is a 6bra 50 FB, with my barrel nut. Stock is the Revolution with aluminum bedding block (no bedding needed). Bat trigger guard and action screws. This rifle can be easily assembled in a few hours and is capable of shooting very small groups. Probably better than most people can shoot IMHO.

Parts are $499 for the stock, $235 for the barrel, $34 for the nut, $34 for recoil lug, $69 for Bat trigger guard and action screw. You can spend as much as you like on the pic rail, but i have them from $24 to $125 so will say $50.
So that is $921 for all the parts. Add in your action (Buds is $400 or so) and you have a bench rifle that will shoot small for $1321 TOTAL and I am offering free shipping with code ACCURATESHOOTER.
Brother you can't even buy a stock for that from the big boys. Just saying...
There are more ways to skin that cat, but that is my way....
