Has anyone used Accurate 4064 in a 6 Dasher? I bought 8 lbs because I can't find any of the usual powders for 6 dasher. I'm also new to the dasher. I'd be shooting tge Hornady 108 ELDs
Thanks! I've never used quickload before but have seen it referenced in threads. I'll try out that rangeQuickLoad says 31-33gr is a good workup. 100% burn in a 26in barrsl, 91.6 to 100% fill @ 2.358 COL. Good Ballistic Efficiency. FWIW 108 ELD-M's are my favorite 6mm anything bullet.
Good Luck

That's really good info, thank you. I can see the temperatures going from 50 degrees in the morning to 85 during the day or something like that. I'll need to pay attention to thatI purchased a fair bit of AA4064 earlier in the year to work up a practice load with 185 Hybrids in one of my .308 Win F-TR rifles so as not to burn up all of my Varget and 200.20Xs during practice. When I first started with charge weight testing, temps were routinely in the upper 80s/low 90s. I set that project aside for a month or so, and now the fall weather has moved in, with much lower temps, generally in the mid 50s to upper 60s. In my hands, a load that routinely yielded 2725-2730 fps for a given charge weight at 90 degrees dropped to 2705-2710 fps at 75 degrees, and then verifiably plummeted to 2660 fps at 60 degrees. I had really not been expecting the AA4064 to be that temperature-sensitive.
As a result, I have been doing a little more charge weight and seating depth testing, combined with QuickLoad analyses, and will simply have to live with adjusting the charge weight and/or seating depth to better optimize loads and accommodate even relatively small temperature changes of less than 15-20 degrees. I figure having one load for ~80+ degrees, one for ~65-80 degrees, and one for below 65 degrees will probably cover all my bases, and the charge weight adjustments necessary to do that will likely be much greater than just a tenth grain or two. Not trying to bear the bearer of bad tidings here, but I figured you would want to know about issues such as the temperature sensitivity of the AA4064. It's not a deal breaker, but will require a little more effort if you intend to shoot across a temperature range of something like 50-90 degrees.
