Anybody have an accurate load for 55gr FMJs for a 1/8 barrel that can hold the SRC 10 ring at 200 yards?
In my experience, the best way to get an accurate load with a 55 gr FMJ bullet is to replace it with a 55 gr Hornady SP, a 55 gr Nosler Ballistic Tip or Varmageddon, a Speer TNT, or one of the Sierra 55 gr bullets. I just never had any decent accuracy with 55 gr FMJ bullets or ammo. Not even in a 1 in 8 twist barrel. And I have tried Winchester, IMI, and Remington FMJ bullets. I have a bag of 100 Hornady 55 gr FMJ to try, but I figure I will use up all my 40 gr, 50 gr, 52 gr, 55 gr, 60 gr, 62 gr, 68 gr, 69 gr, 73 gr, 75 gr and 77 gr bullets first, all of which have demonstrated better accuracy than the 55 gr FMJ in my rifles.mousegunner said:Anybody have an accurate load for 55gr FMJs for a 1/8 barrel that can hold the SRC 10 ring at 200 yards?
