Accurate 2015

Is ACCURATE 2015 the same as ACCURATE AA-2015 I do not see AA-2015 anywhere on the container?

Its different and you should someone with an older accurate arms reloading manual to get a starting.

I may be wrong, but a few years back I researched AA2015 for my 222 or maybe it was my 223. As far as I know it was the same stuff. AA stood for Accurate Arms 2015. The designation today is A2015. I also believe that at one time it was also referred to as XMR2015. Again, I may be incorrect but that is what I remember.

If it were me I'd contact Accurate powders and ask them to clarify before loading any ammunition

I thought the early powder was a flattened ball like powder. What does it look like?

AA2015 is a single base, extruded powder not unlike H322 in the shape & size of individual powder kernels. I'm sure the stuff has changed slightly over the years; IIRC, the original may have been a surplus powder, while later lots were made in Israel, and later still, China. The 8lb jug I have is labeled 2015BR, and was made in China.

If you have any doubts, contact Western Powders & inquire about the particular lot of 2015 you have.

I have some from long ago and it is very fine extruded. I also have old AA data booklets if you need info from them.
