Accurate 1680

I've never used this powder before and can't believe how finely ground it is. It seems like dust compared to the powders I'm familiar with. Is this the nature of this powder? I have lot 0527202110.

Yes, but it's very limited in rifle application. Really fast for most rifle cartridges.

Good in 300BLK w/125 gr bullets, K-Hornet & 221FB w/40 gr bullets. You want some real pixie dust, check out Alliant 300MP.

I use 1680 in 357 Max and 445SM. Weeeeeee bit of muzzle flash in the 445 SM :D

445 Super Magnum is a 44 magnum case that has been lengthen by 3/8 inch. It was Designed by Elgin T. Gates for silhouette shooting. I’m shooting Hornady 240 gr XTP’s @ 1850 FPS. Son asked if I could shoot one at dusk sometime. Need to do that sometime.

Yes, AA 1680 is a fine grained powder that meters exceptionally well. I use it for subsonic rounds under 220gr Sierra MK’s in 300BLK and 500gr Hornady DGS/DGX in 458 SOCOM.

I have found, at least at subsonic velocities and shooting suppressed, it tends to be a bit dirty.

Years ago, Accurate Arms had in their manual that 1680 was THE powder for a 221 Fire Ball, I shot a lot of it.

For the 300BLK, it's the easy button. It's one of the original powders used for it. The downside of 1680 is that it's dirty and loud (suppressed) compared to the vast array of other
acceptable powders.

AA 1680 is practically the same as the "discontinued" Winchesster 680. So, if you have old manuals, you can use that data.
Just don't think they are ideal for low-pressure cartridges
