ABRA Texas State Tournament Results

There was a major competition going on at the Boerne Shooting Club Range yesterday.


Competitors from Texas, Kentucky, Louisiana, and Tennessee were battling it out for the top slot in ABRA’s Texas State Tournament and for the National Buckles and Titles.


The weather in Boerne was a bit warm for November but it made for some nice condition.

We had 20 Unlimited Competitors, 2 Factory Class, and 5 Unlimited Youth Competitors it was a packed house.


ABRA Kentucky resident Steve DuVall started off his 1st card in the middle of the pack, but came back on the next 5 cards and stole the show. Shooting an aggregate of 197 for the win in the ABRA Texas State Tournament. Steve shot 194,198,198,198,196 and final card was a 198. CONGRATULATIONS STEVE!


Evelio McDonald took 2nd place in the unlimited class shooting an aggregate of 194.50 taking high card on target #5 with a 197. Evelio shot 195,191,196,193,197,195


Wayne Argence took 3rd taking high card on target 1 with a 195 shooting an aggregate of 193.667. Wayne’s cards were 195,195,193,190,192,197



David Russell fell behind on his 1st card but that did not stop him, he came back with a win on his mind taking 1st place in the Factory class shooting an aggregate of 184.167. David’s cards were 176,184,189,187,184,185 WAY TO GO DAVID!

Brian Vincent took 2nd place winning card 1 with a 187 and finishing it off with a 175,177,179,180,179.


The Girls of ABRA were not holding back anything yesterday. In the youth division all high cards were taken by the Girls.

Shelby Matoy of Tennessee took 1s place in the youth unlimited class shooting an aggregate of 189.50.

Shelby took high card on 1-192,2-192,6-190 GREAT SHOOTING SHELBY!

New shooter Gracie Collins took 2nd place taking high card on target 5-191 and an aggregate of 188.667

Returning youth shooter Samantha Peterson took 4th place shooting an aggregate of 186.667 taking high card on 3-191 and 4-192

Ethan Self from Louisiana took 3rd place in the competition shooting an aggregate of 187.99.


Darek Biggs took 5th place shooting an aggregate of 184.667.

Lisa, All I can say is “ Who Are These Guys and Gals”. Awesome semi shooters popping up from all over the country makes for such an interesting time to be alive. I’ll bet your audience would love to see a full equipment list when you and Joe have time to recover from the hard work of running such an event. My hat is off to you both. Charlie
