I thought I would share this story:
I have a friend that wanted to try shooting F-Class, F-TR specifically. Over the past few months, I helped him set up a new rifle in .308, based on a Defiance action. He was absolutely NOT ready to start handloading yet, although he has interest. So, we decided to use one of the US FTR reamer designs (the 2013 I believe) and I told him to invest in some ABM ammo loaded with Berger 185 grain Juggernauts. I figured that, at best, he'd put up a some X's and get interested in the sport, but that he'd be missing out on some accuracy by not handloading and doing some load development.
I took him out to his first match with the rifle this past Saturday, at 500 yards. Rainy, but conditions were absolutely perfect in terms of wind. He'd put exactly one box through the rifle.
He promptly put up a 600-34X, missing out on the overall win by 3X's to an Open shooter.
I guess that ABM ammo is pretty good stuff...
