It isn't so much into the abyss as it is climbing the ladder to the top rung.

Our range is 100-200yds, cut into the trees at the foothills of a mountain range, at 50yds there's a 10' wide creek running left-right, 30yds behind the 100yd targets is a 10-12' berm.

The regional cast bullet shooters say it has the toughest conditions of any range they shoot in the Pacific NW.
I refer to it as the Bermuda Triangle. Winds are constantly shifting and swirling, what you see in the flags isn't necessarily what you get on the target. You can have 6 shooters using flags and 70+% are all showing different values. Shooting rimfire here on a regular basis justifies having a shrink on retainer.

I shoot with some seasoned old-timers with solid equipment and you should hear the noises and comments they make while shooting a match.

I bought a Tikka .223 Varmint and 69g SMK's are helping me regain my sanity.

Nice setup... rabbit hole or not the whole thing is about having fun , I think alot of people forget this.. Once it becomes more of a non paying job or extremely frustrating there's no fun in it for myself....
