AA2700 and the 220 swift

Loaded up some loads with AA2700 and rem 9 1/2 primers behind a Nosler 55gr BT 43.o and 43.5 out of my Win 28" bbl 1885 . Sweet tight small groups immediately. Thought I try same load behind some 53gr V-max becuase I know my bbl is a 13" twist rather than a 14" and they only shot fair at 100 yards. Looks like I'll be buying a 8lb keg of that stuff. Didn't have time to set up the Chronograph .

2700 has long been my favorite in the Swift. It does tend to carbon the throat area a bit more than extruded powders. JB paste on a wet patch wrapped around a worn bronze brush works great to remove this.

I've used AA2700 in the .22/250AI with 55 and 60 gr bullets for a long time. Performance is very close if not identical to W760/H-414. Both make great PD loads. Vic
