AA2520 instead of RL15

How does AA2520 compare to RL15? How temp sensitive is 2520?

I would like to try RL15.5 but doubt it will be available in my lifetime. It is time to abandon Alliant and look for something available and economical. Bought RL15 last fall for $75 a pound....... I can't afford that!

What is your accuracy requirement? I have a used a lot of re15 and a little 2520. Both are temp sensitive, the 2520 maybe a bit more. Keep a data book when you shoot and you can mitigate some of the temp sensitivity. Keep your ammo from baking in the sun or getting really cold and that will help. I think the temp stability thing has been blown a bit out of proportion.
Shooter's world match is also 2520. It may be cheaper but aa2520 seems to have good availability.
Both 2520 and re15 are capable of good accuracy. The vv140, h4895, 8208 are all capable of great accuracy too but the powder you can get still shoots better than the stuff you can't? Do you want to take up golf instead? Barf

AA2520 from my limited experience is in the Varget burn rate.
I have shot a bit with it in a .223, PPC, and grinch, all shooting heavies. Although I need to test it more, I was not disappointed. In a PPC with 103-105 gr bullets in a re-chambered 8 twist, it is competitive at 600 yards.

I've used 2520 and TAC in place of RL15,Varget and 8208.I think the extruded powders have a small accuracy edge but the ball powders are easier to work with and more available.
