aa2230 in the summer

So I worked up a load a little while ago when it was in the 40's with aa2230 ( in another recent post) and with ease was shooting in .2's with Lapua brass, 25.0gr, 55NBT, rem 7.5's. Today, in the 80's temp, it was now shooting 2" groups, mostly vertical. Cleaned it again and so on still having the same prob. So I grab my 40gr vmax loads with aa2230 and the groups touching, 1 ragged hole. Confused, I go home and load a few with .5 less grains of powder, and I'm back in buisness. Is AA2230 THAT sensitive??? I guess Im going to do 24.5 in the summer and 25.0 in the winter.

It "is" that sensitive.Nothing like having two different loads. Kinda like having a Summer home. ;D
You running close to max? All my loads are mid range and never have a problem. More wiggle room just for that reason. ;)

I use 2230 in several 223's with the 40gr. BT's. I did load work in the warmer temps, as they're strictly for prairie doggin', so I can't say that I tested them in cooler temps for a change in group size.

I use 2230 in a MIV and 6BR. Haven't noticed any particular temperature sensitivity. But from lot to lot it can vary quite a bit.

I think I figured out my issues. Temp had nothing to do with I believe. To make a loooooonnggg story short I think my scope is not holding zero on this rifle. I had a Millet laying around and figured Id use it. Well, I think this piece of crap isnt holding zero. I thought it was temps, bullets, copper or carbon foul, you name it. The same load will shoot tiny holes, then turn around and shoot erratic groups in the same day. Clean or not nothing made a difference. Ughh I should of known better, time for another NF.
