AA Data 85??

Been thinking about getting some. Anybody using it?
Just about out of AA 2230C and it's not available anymore.
Thinking .221 Fireball, 6BR and .308.,and some in between)
30.5 grs. of AA2230C with a 80gr. Berger was doing real good in my 6BR.:D

Data 85 is quite a bit slower burning than 2230C, more like 4831. I doubt you will find it very useful in the cartridges you listed. Maybe the 308 with heavy bullets.

Midway has 2230 on sale for $9.99 a pound this month. The $20 hazmat & extra $10 for a powder order make it necessary to order a lot though.

Accurate Arms 2230 is not the Data 2230C. Even at that, the AA2230 is real good stuff. Might need to go with some of that and some AA2460 too. Still thinking. ;) Too many dicisions.

Mike, when I called AA about my keg of 2230C they said it was just a little slower than their regular 2230 and that I could use the 2230 data with it. You may want to check again with them, but I don't know you'd see much difference between the 2.

Edit: And if you haven't tried LilGun in your Fireball your missing a lot. Like about 200FPS.

Bill: I've got this thing for "ball" powder. It meters so easy it's hard to work with anything else. Even got some Lil'Gun to try in my .221 Fireball but havn't given it a "real" chance. I just couldn't get use to the flake metering. I'll just have to "bite the bullet";) and really give it a try.
Even tried some Varget. Other than cutting kernels, it seems to work real good. Just wish it was $70.00 for 8 lbs.!:D But that might be asking too much!
You might say that I was "stuck in a rut" after using AA2230C for about 10 to 12 8lb. jugs. Sure was good stuff. Kinda like a old and true friend!

I just ordered a jug of AA2230 and one of AA2460 along with a jug of Varget for my shooting buddy. ;)No hidden charges from Powder Valley.
Been eyeballing my Lil'Gun so I'am going to give it a workout in my .221 Fireball. For some reason I thought it was more of a "flake" powder. Something about the metering set me back but I'am gunna give it a real try.
