AA 2230 powder in new ar15

After accepting that 25.3 of Varget was very good with Sierra bullets of 69 and 80 grain weight, I thought why not try some AA2230. So quick as a rabbit, I loaded some sierras up with AA2230 yesterday and to the range I went, with a good stiff wind blowing me there. I was quit happy with the AA2230, shooting 1.5 inch groups for the rifle with both bullet weights. I was surprised. I thick Varget is not the only powder now.

With 69 grain SMKs we've had outstanding luck with 22.9 grains of H322. Meters like ball, but with all the benefits of an extreme extruded.

We've shot some sub 1" groups out to 200 yards off the bench. (White Oak AR barrel)

2230 was made for .223/5.56, I use it all the way up to Sierra 80 Match Kings.

I have been using 2230 for years and years with real good results.If ya put some on your toast ,it makes you want to go shooting.Add marshmallow fluff and its a party.LOL
