a problem using redding's 6 BR die for a 22 BR

i shoot two 22 BRS and have used the 6mmBR redding body die to resize fired brass. i noted there was very little actual resizing so i got a small base 6mm BR die to resize for my 6mmBR and the 22 BR cases. fine with the 6mmBR BUT a problem with the 22 BR brass. ran the brass into the die and it was resized nicely but the brass has to go somewhere...bump gauge measured shoulder .004 too long so i screwed the die in until the shoulder was pushed back. but when chambered with firing pin/spring removed from the bolt, closure was too tight. pushed the shoulder back more and still too tight! magnified inspection revealed the problem. the opening in the die is for a 6mm neck and when the 22 cal neck went in the die pushing the shoulder back allowed a small rim of brass to go into the neck portion of the die and this was hitting the end of the chamber. i fired this case and this ring was gone and the headspace measurement was as previously determined. a 22BR fl die would avoid this problem...one is on order.
