Got word today from the NRA that i will not be classified as a high master, it will be master.......I was always told since starting F class competition that to jump up in classification it was a rolling total of your last 120 shots for record in registered matches.....Well, today the NRA contacted me and said that because the two matches i did it in were more than 120 shots, it was 160 shots, it was gonna be the total aggregate of both combined......The first match was a 2 day match with 5 strings of 20 at 1000 total for the weekend, the next match i shot was a 1 day match with 3 strings of 20 at 1000......They are counting all 8 strings of 20 for total score, not just the last 6 strings of 20 for 120 shots for record.......My last 6 strings at 1000 was 1176/1200 50X for a 196/200 average per string but the 2 strings before that was below the 196/200 average so it dropped the % down to 97.5% for 8 strings.......The last 6 strings were 98%......Just wanted to let you guys know how this worked out because i and several guys i spoke with thought that it was the last 120 shots but in a case like this it will be total aggregate for the matches even if its much more than 120 shots, hope this explanation helps clear things up for guys not knowing exactly how it works when it comes to classification changes, i know i learned something i didn't know.
