A neighbor had a gun blow up on him

What was he doing? Was the accident gun-related or something else (e.g. fell off a mower)?
I was not there. They needed to move a pallet of sandbags to a creek/bridge area. They had to go down a steep hill. They used a forklift. The forklift failed going down the steep hill. 2 people were standing on top of the pallet. The forklift sped up and hit a parapet wall of a concrete on the bridge. One jumped off of the pallet in time. The other rode it down, hitting the concrete parapet .

On all the rifles from the different militay's around the would I have seen it all , always check for proper headspace with SAAMI Min. and Max headspace gauges and study the proper bore and put one of my bushing sized for the right bore size on a cleening rod and run it clean though the barrel bore, I have seen rifles marked wrong along with .020 length headspace, Weld linens in the chamber cosmoline packed in the bore, wasp nests, you name it I have seen it . I can help him if he would like to know the problem, just have him send me a private email for shipping instructions and theirs no charge, I cant stand to see improper chambers . Thanks
Thank You. I will let him know if and when he contacts me.

You bet you my friend , I just opened my Cabin Feaver Sports custom reamer shop, its In the old Pacific Tool an Gauge shop, I purchased a new 60,000sqf building for PTG and I am going big into Custom and competition Chamber Reamers. I have, Olympic reamers for 6 country's along with the Military, factory reamers and USA team Reamers, with all the records that have been broken with my bore rider reamers i am running all three of my shops around the clock. You know my first love are Wildcat reamers so I am always in my custom shop but remember I will always take time to look at things like that . Thank You David Kiff , dave@kifftool.com

..... They used a forklift. ......... 2 people were standing on top of the pallet. .......
I think I see the problem. No adult supervision.

Not to belabor the point but once-upon-a-time I was young an stupid and did lots of stupid stuff to get the job done. Then I got a heavy dose of safety training. Completely changed my outlook. There's a reason why the home improvement stores have safety spotters with red flags around when they use forklifts. There's no substitute for doing it the right/safe way. Well, maybe not doing it at all.

I once bought a '98 Krag that both the seller and I believed had heavy rust patches. Turned out to be dried-on cosmoline. That was a happy discovery.

"Hope he heals fast"

A second on this and hope there is no permanent damage to his vision.

A shooting companion of mine with 30+ years of high power and reloading
experience had an 03 let go on him. It was a proven good rifle that he had put a few thousand rounds through and was a high number receiver.

It happened on his last round of slow prone. The target was two rounds short of the required 10 so the best we can figure he had a squib and didn't realize. (his slow prone average is 96 pts.)

No permanent damage to the shooter but the rifle had a shattered stock, bent floor plate, brass blown back through the firing pin gallery, mag cut off almost blown clear of the action and it took a two foot cheater to open the bolt. Most of the case head was gone. No projectiles were found in the bore nor did we find any bulged area in the barrel which I can't rationalize.

Be safe and double check your loading. Bad things can happen to even experienced loaders and shooters.

That's why I hate Sako Extractors in a Remington bolt . Seen to many come apart because of overloading or stupid people, If a fella knows what he is doing there fine but theirs a lot of dumb people. Thanks
