A long drive

Took a long drive (600 miles) back to my home town in eastern Montana to meet a friend of mine & his wife to do some dog shooting. Just to be covered I took the 22, 17HMR, 223, & 204. Had a few nice days and some with scattered showers and wind. Dogs were pretty skittish and took awhile for them to come back out. Most shooting was 200+ yards. My Remi 700 VLS 204 was my main shooter. Kerry did most of the ranging with his Lica range finder. My longest kill with the 204 was 496 yards with 3 prior shots working up to the 4th kill shot. Lots of ammo spent and lots of dogs down and 1 rattle snake. Just wish it wasn't so dang far back home but well worth every gallon of gas it took to get there.
