Some friends and clients came up and did some woodchuck hunting this weekend. We hunted one of my family farms, about 300 acres in total. Rifles put in play were almost a full gambit of the Dasher family: 20, 22, and 6.
The 20 Dasher is still in fireforming mode with 29.8 grains of ramshot tac pushing a 40 grain V-Max from a 11 twist barrel. Rifle is stocked in a black / blue PRT lowboy with a remington 700.
The 22 Dasher is a McMillan stocked remington 700 launching 53 gr v-max bullets over XBR 8208 powder.
Finally, the 6 Dasher, like it's 20 caliber cousin, is sitting in a PRT lowboy but this time dressed in red, black, and natural coloring. She is still fireforming as well, using a 87 gr v-max for varmint hunting duty as the brass is prepped. The 6 Dasher is steered by a Borden BRLMF.
All rifles are topped by Vortex Golden Eagles. For the field work, we have been very comfortable and impressed with the DOA shooting benches.
I'll post some more photos as we finish up the week tomorrow and thursday.
