A little Swifting

I always say… Hunt softly but carry a Swift :p
First shot of the day was a little tricky (for me).
We spotted one that looked farther but my partner ranged him at 330 yards. It thought it was a young one because it was flattened out feeding in 6” tall alfalfa and could only see a little of it. It seemed like it was working its way to some tall grass on the edge of the field so I figured it was now or never. I laid the horizontal of the reticle on the top edge of the hog and the Swift cracked. The tail went up!

Gotta love those Coopers and in a Swift, now that's good times. I have that stock on my 7Mag, so nice I hate to take it elk hunting.

I’ve had several swifts, too much fun, hard to appreciate if you’ve never owned one. That Cooper is beautiful, didn’t you just pick up a 700 classic too?

It’s been a slow start for me this year, but I got out with a buddy yesterday evening. Alfalfa is getting high again after being cut once. The Swift went 2 for 2 and the Sierra 55 grain Blitz Kings @ 3800 worked as normal. Good times!

Swift you say? Well those are moribund, antique barrel burners, terrible cartridge built on a goofy has-been-never-was military cartridge...why on earth would anyone shoot such a passe' cartridge when there are such awesomeness cartridges like the Valkyrie, Creedmuch, ARC, Grendel, and etc etc...?

And Gawd I love mine!
