A little night-time coon hunting.

I keep a wildlife feeder active all year keeps beneficial game animals in the vicinity, deer, turkeys.
However the coons and we have plenty living on a scenic river bottom it's loaded with them.
The coons figured out how to remove the feeder spout and keep dumping all the corn out on the ground, this is where I have to thin the herd.
Shots are very close,30 to 50 yards. I use an integrally suppressed Ruger 77/22 bolt gun, 1 lb trigger,3x9 Leupold, and a coyote light. I shoot a Winchester 42 Max subsonic hollow point. I aim for the first third of the body, and none make it more than 3 yards before DRT.My blind in foreground.cd.jpegcd1.jpegcd2.jpegcd3.jpegcd4.jpeg

A guy in Iowa trapped 3000 last season. Fur trades biggest problem is/was COVID. Europe and Asia has no money for fur(largest market). Ukraine war isn't helping.

A guy that still coon hunts, told me the coons are so thick they dont run like they used to. They climb a tree in about 50 yds. I remember when they would run a half mile. A dog barks so many of them , they have coons treed everywhere. Doug

A friend of mine used to feed them. She had as many as 15 at a time on her deck.
