I'm thinking of rebarreling a 700 SA to a 6.5x47L for hunting with standard hunting bullets out to a maximum of 300 yards. )just because I wanna, LOL).
Finding a rifle here in the cornfields of IN in this caliber and an owner of one has about the same odds as shooting a 400lb whitetail.
While the COAL is shown as 2.795", is this based on the normally lengthy long range bullets and has the lands further back? OR......what?
I might be over thinking this but a NBT 120 grain seated to 2.795" COAL computes to a .265" seating depth........but with a different type of ogive ..........where does that place it from the lands, roughly?
I'm totally in the dark on anything created for shooting long range bullets and will probably remain so after 2/3 of a century, so ........your help would be most appreciated.
God Bless
