a little help with 6.5x284

I am getting ready to drop my parts off at the smiths for barrelling. Need some info
Will be shooting absolutely nothing but paper/steel, Ranges from 100-1000yds. Will be loading only match bullets like the SMK's and Amax's.

#1 I have ran accross what seems to be 2 different versions of the 6.5x284, a norma and a win.
Are they the same?
Is one better than the other?

#2 Seating depth, Do you go with normal factory type freebore or custom depth? or am I barking up the wrong tree on this one. When I dropped my 7mm off he asked me if I wanted something to this effect, which pretty much equated what size bullets would be shooting through it.

Mainly just the norma/winchester thing,

Question #1. Depends on which brass you are going to use.
The better brass is Lapua, based on the Norma disign.

Question #2. Depends on bullets you are going to use.
If,VLD) very low drag you will require more throat, free bore)

Good luck & good shooting
Gary.

Use the norma chamber,.500 rear vs .496) and lapua brass.

Seat the heaviest, longest bearing surface) bullet you plan to use so the boattail/bearing surface jcn. is just ahead of the neck/shoulder jcn and have him make that dummy = 0.010off the lands.
