To be honest, I quit hard liquor in my early 20s. Figured out that was a bad thing to mess with. Gave up beer a decade later.
So if anyone is wondering, I'm not drunk when I post. Just my normal state of insanity.

I must say that your suggestion of Firefly rivals the proof of many top Bourbons in my beloved home of KY.
They must know what they are doing!

Their apple pie shine is also tasty. I over did it a little at my daughter's wedding and woke up without a hang over. Seems made to order for an occasional drinker like me. One of the pints last me months.

Never did take up drinking, just imagine what I saved. On the other hand I love investing in the happiness in a bottle of gun powder. Recently added 10# of IMR-4198 to the stash. Problem is it won't last long. One of my favorite powders for .223. Yep, " Happy, Happy, Happy" as Phil Robertson used to say. Whatta Hobby!

As a young bluejacket on my first diesel submarine, a WWII Chief Torpedoman Mate had a "fatherly" conversation (entirely on his part) about alcohol and its consumption.
It was an interesting talk, the point being that if you drank Straight Bourbon Whiskey (preferably from Kentucky) with only water for a chaser, you would not have a hangover the next morning.
I admit, there were times when I must have got some bad water.
I still follow his advice. A shot glass of Wild Turkey with a "water by" sipped slowly.

If you study alcohol distillation, the causes of a hangover become readily apparent.
It's more than just one thing. Not sure why I decided I needed to investigate this. But there it is.
