A little elbow grease and wahla...

When I ordered this action from Jim Borden I forgot to have him polish it.
I was was going to send it back and have him polish it but decided I might give it a try and see if I could do it.
The worst that could happen is I wouldn't like it and would end up losing a little time before getting it turned around.
It ended up taking almost 3 hrs with the most time spent sanding it about 2 hrs and the rest on the buffing wheel.
I'm happy with how it turned out and will tackle the panda action that's do in next month for the youngest grandson as well

Did you use a loose or a sewn wheel when buffing? Looks great!

It looks great! I did the same thing with my Savage target action, bolt and trigger guard. Some 1,500 grit wet/dry with some WD40 and then buff up with Dremel and diamond lapping compound. Looks like a mirror and was actually kind of therapeutic doing it.

I started with 600 then to 1200 with Hobo oil
( I haven't heard of anyone using it for this yet .Lol...)
Then used grey and green compound on a 8" grinder with buffing wheel.

Work of art. In my past life was a tool maker at Kohler Co and had a chance to watch workers polish brass plumbing fixtures. Polishing takes a lot of skill. Again fine job.
